It's no skin off of my nose if they don't want to delegate privileges to those volunteering for staff. I'll either stay a member or look elsewhere and work under a different forum owner.

When I owned my forum, I was all about spreading power. I wanted and I needed the help. Keep in mind that there is nothing that an Administrator cannot restore if a moderator were to make a grave error. Admins can restore threads, restore deleted accounts, merge accounts, lift bans, and a whole slew of other things through the admin control panel. So, why not give mods ban privileges? They can't really do any permanent damage if they were to go nuts.
