Wordpress is also not very appropriate for website that allows a lot of users to create accounts or subdomains. Here lies the importance of using content management system like Drupal. Drupal is appropriate for ecommerce websites that have multi vendors. You need coding skills to use drupal, though.

Drupal has been around even longer than Wordpress. People consider Wordpress to be more user friendly. But, Drupal has a bit more flexible custom post types. If you are making a website with a complex data organisation, then Drupal may be a better choice than Wordpress.

Drupal is more secured than wordpress, and unlike drupal wordpress cannot handle a large traffic or too many users. However, as far as spam comments is considered, you cna easily disable commenting on your wordpress webste.
