Would you use dot blog for your blog or go for traditional dot com, or other popular extensions like dot org and dot net. I don't own a dot blog domain but I like it. It cost $6.98 for first year and $23.88 on the second year (the price is burrowed from namecheap).

I have seen blogs using dot blog extension. However, I don't think I will ever use that domain. It is expensive. I pay around $13 to renew my dot com, if I have dot blog I will be paying $24 for renewal.

Namecheap has lots of extensions for domains. The best is to choose the one you can afford to purchase, and build on it for the time being to achieve your aim.

namecheap offers more than 400 domain extensions. There are just about 1500 domain extensions

I will prepare using the traditional.com extension for my blog because I don't think .blog extension would give my blog some attractiveness as compared to using the traditional extension.

Bro anything you want a lot of people to access, it's better you use a dot com extension because it'll be easier to remember. How many popular blogs do you recall having the dot blog extension?
Besides it's even more expensive

Is there any major difference between them? Or is it just the name. If I should own a blog, I would probably pick the cheapest one or the most popular one.

I like the idea of the .blog extension to a blog. I mean, it's something to do with the field, and the idea is really interesting. you can't use .blog on a gaming forum for example. you use it strictly on a blog.

I planned to launch my website this year and my planned choosing dot com as the domain name. Although, I do not see anything wrong in the other domain extension but I just feel the dot com sounds global.
