Depending on what it is you work one, is there ever a time where the work you do requires a permit or license to do? Maybe it's building a house and then selling it, or maybe it's owning your own store where you sell items. Does any of the work you do require a permit to do or a license? If so, why?

I m a freelancer, and freelancing does not need a permits. I also sell products and services online, and you need a permit to sell online but I have not applied for ppermits yet. That's because my sales are very small and I do not have a registered business.
