Do you turn off your online status?

Do you think that it's convenient to turn off your online status in your account as a forum owner? What could be the reason why you deem it as something that's necessary to do? I noticed it with one forum owner and when I asked him why, he told me that he usually gets a lot of PM when he's seen online, so he had it turned off and operate in the shadow.

Would you do such with your account?

I personally like to show myself online both as a staff member and as a member on forums, I feel that you should be approachable as a staff member especially if someone needs help. I can understand though why some staff members would turn themselves offline as well as members especially if they get bombarded with private messages which can be a little too much at times.

I do not turn off my online status., UNless this is turned off by default on all forums my status will be online when I visit the forum and people can easily see what I am doing on the forum.

It's not something that really make sense to me. As a forum owner, it might look as if you don't really care about your workers but just want to continue making money. You should always be online whenever you can
