Do you think that it's necessarily important for you to organise a training session for the moderators hired to work on your forum?

I can remember the first time I was hired as a moderator, I wasn't given any training except for the intense interview questions on how to work as a moderator.

But I believe that moderator training is very important because it's going to help them master how to use the moderator tools on the forum.

I do not see the necessity of training anyone for moderating jobs. When someone applies for moderation job, I think he already knows trhe responsoibilities related to moderating a foum.

Moderating job is a professional job so you need to be trained for you to know how to relate with your boss and members when you are carrying out your responsibility. There are ethics rules you need to learn in order to carry out your duties successfully.

It is not entirely true. Someone can just see a job opening, reads about the job role online but doesn't understand the intricacies of that job role. That's where training would help such a person of hired. I strongly believe moderators should be trained.

Just explain to me why would a site owner hire someone who does not know anything about moderation? Would anyone hire unskilled worker? The applicant should understand what the job demands.

i believe that it is good to train your moderators, as they are the ones that holds the survival of your forum, the better your moderators are, the better it is for you and your forum.
