Very positive that social media can provide real-time updates, certainly it's crucial to verify information from multiple reliable sources.

Relying solely on social media for news is something I try to avoid at all means in regards to vital informations as it might expose you to misinformation.

I will always try to make a cross-checking confirmation through reputable news outlets.

Do you rely solely on social media news, mostly vital information that is often no inline personal information?

Social media does not create news, social media sites are not news portal. They will only show you content created and shared by other people. I have liked popular media company pages (forbes for example) and I check their links to access news.
