Do you shadow your employees sometimes?

If you run a business or store with employees, do you ever shadow them? As in watch over them as they work to see if they do anything wrong of make mistakes. I hate when a boss or supervisor does that. I get anxiety when people watch me work and it ends up making me stumble on my words and sometimes go blank. It happened to me at the call center a lot, when a supervisor would come by and see how I was doing. It always bugged me.

What about you though? As a business owner, do you shadow some of your employees? How long do you do it?

I do not spy on my workers, I let them work on their own and I reward them based on their performance, the one who works better will earn better and the one who delivers poor work will receive less payment. One of the main reasons why I have never worked as a supervisor because I do not like watching people.
