Do you send newsletters

When People leave comments on your blog or join your forum they will also leave emails. You can grab those emails and send newsletters to these emails. Do you send newsletters to these people about your products and services. Do you send weekly or even daily summary of your site activities to these people. I have done this in the past but I stopped after I did not get any engagements.

I have sent newsletters in the past and will continue to do so. I think they are important to have, but only when users sign up to them. I wouldn't just put someone one a newsletter, because they may think it's spammy. So I let them sign up for newsletters if they want to.
