Do you have team leaders?

For both websites/blog and forums, having team leaders ("TL's") I think is a good idea, for the blog you could have Media Leader or something like that, that manages all the pictures and what not. I mean, in reality, companies use TL's all the time, they just are not called team leaders. =P

Does your website or forum utilize team leaders? If so, how much authority do they have over their team and the teams actions?

I have groups, as staff settings. and i don't have team leaders, we do our own thing, and it works. Not one staff is in charge of another apart from the founder group but we leave the others to do as they wish, thereis no need for me to have team leaders.

It depends on the size of your staff. One person should generally be in charge of no more than five people. After you get above five people under one person's watch, you should look into your leadership structure to see how you could thin out the leader to member ratio.

Back when I worked at a hosting company called Thallium hosting I was in charge of all the support team. It was a fun task but did take some work.

I think team leaders should only be used in large scale projects with a lot of employees.
