When you retire from your work, do you have someone in mind to replace you? Or do you have plans to hire someone else to take over your position?

I don't think of retirement yet; it sounds a bit scary. I focus on the future now. Since I work for a company, I don't need to look for someone who can replace me when I retire. I will have more time for myself and my family. That's what I want.

I believe that it is actually necessary for you to have a replacement in mind and actually groom the person that is going to replace you so that the person will know exactly what is expected of him when he takes over the reins of duties..

I am a freelancer, so I may never know when I may officially retire. I have a few other plans on my mind, so thing could be pretty different for me. Having said that, when a person retires, they usually refer someone else. This is because this may benefit a person who may need a job!

In most cases whenever a freelancer retires, everything that he does will also retire with him unless there are some certain aspects of his jobs as a freelancer that will keep paying him or her money even though he has retired. For example, someone who is involved in affiliate marketing will always keep making money from it no matter what happens.

I have no plans to retire, I will work as long as I am mentally and physically fit to work. When I am retiring, possibly my position will be taken by someone who inherits my business, probably my kids.

My kids hopefully by the grace of God are going to inherit my business. I will do everything within my power to Ieave something valuable they can take over. They can build on it and make it an empire if they have the dream of doing it.

Well, it is the law of nature that your businesses are likely to be inherited by your kids, if they have no interest in running the business, they might sell it later but the first inheritance will go to your kids. Therefore, a lot of businessmen will be replaced by their kids when they resign or retire.

Well, what happens to those people who decided not to have any kids when they are married? Who will inherit their own businesses when they die? I don't think most of them are going to be interested in passing it on to their relatives. They usually sell it and have the money donated to charity.

In many cases, the government may or may not take over the business. There has to be someone who has to manage the business and this entirely depends on the business laws in a country. In many cases, the company may simply dissolve and no one may inherit it. This is something retirees must consider when it comes to opting for or thinking about any kind of replacement.

There is no way government is going to take over any private individuals personal businesses because they don't have children they are going to will their businesses over to. I believe that what they normally do is to have an arrangement with their lawyers to make sure that the business is liquidated into cash and transfer to charity if they don't will it to their relatives.
