Do you feel like you've wasted money on hosting?

Why would that be the case? What kind of hosting was it? How did you think you were getting a value before you bought it? How much of a waste was it?

I do not feel, I have wasted money on hosting. I spend just about $7 per month to host multiple websites. When broken down to monthly bills, my domain renewal charges are around $10. By spending about $17 per month on hosting and domain, I am making 15 x and some times even 20 X from Adsense alone.
