Do you ever screen cast from your PC to your tv?

Do you guys ever screen cast from your PC to your TV screen? Maybe in the same room, or even in the other room. I tend to screen cast to my living room tv to watch movies and such on my big screen tv. Do you guys do anything like this? The quality does take a dip, but I'm okay with that.

I tried casting from my PC to TV once but the quality was worse because my PC is far from the TV so I use HDMI or transfer content to a USB pen drive and then watch on TV.
