I have heard of some people not doing it for whatever reason.

It doesn't matter if a site is just for my own tinkering, I always buy it as I do not want my personal information out in the public. It seems silly to allow that.

I use namecheap for all of my domains. Namecheap offers free domain privacy, which means I do not have to pay additional money to protect my domains.

Yeah, some will include it but it seems more ask an additional fee. It is usually very cheap, only a few dollars a year so it seems silly not to opt in. Always worth knowing for certain though that your privacy is protected.

I have never bought domains with other registrars, and when on Namecheap it was a paid service, I think it was really cheap. Domain privacy holds your name, address and email id secret.

Without domain privacy, this information is often publicly available in the domain registration record, which can be accessed by anyone. It may be worth considering for those who are concerned about privacy and want to protect their personal information from potential misuse.

I just discovered that some domain registrars are selling domain privacy for almost the same price as a domain. If you paid $10 for a domain, you would be paying around $10 for domain privacy.

Domain name privacy is very important for every domain name owner. It'll be bad seeing your personal details online. Normally it doesn't cost much to get it for your domain. However it's more affordable to go with domain name registrars that offer it for free if you purchase a domain.

No, I don't buy domain with privacy because it cost a lot of money. Buying a privacy with a domain you bought is good because it will not spammer to sent you unsolicited emails and messages. But it cost a lot of money to buy privacy with your domain. That's why many people don't buy it.

I'm just hearing the significance of domain privacy. Though I knew of its existence in domain providers but never knew its relevance.
I got to know that through domain privacy, it is possible to hide your domain detail from the public. That it won't be possible for anybody searching for your details in whois. My question is why is it necessary to hide information if the site is for public use?.

This is because for a simple reason, some people are racist and if they know for example owner is from a certain country and may stop the use of the website this is one reason.
