Do memes on social media help get traffic?

I feel as if memes are the best way of getting eyes on your page or social accounts. What do you guys think? I feel like everything these days is about memes and short form content. With both of those killing it on social media, I figure capitalizing on both would be ideal to get further in your social media game. How often do you use memes to help you create activity and help grow your audience?

Memes cannot help you get traffic, however, memes cannot only help you to build engagements but also build followers. People like to follow pages and accounts that share funny stuff and if you share funny memes, you might be able to get followers.
