When we stayed in rented house ( when my husband had mobile job and we kept moving to different countries and cities), we would give a bulk security deposit ( refundable when you vacate the house) and pay monthly rents. When we bought our three houses, we took loan from bank. We paid some amount from our savings and rest from loans. We gave monthly instalments to bank. But in all the three cases, we worked hard to save and clear our loan in a year time. It feels good to be debt free.
