Detroit Lions win season opener against Kansas City Chiefs

Yes, The Detroit Lions have somehow bested the Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs in a very close game last night. The Lions were losing 20-14 in the 4th quarter, but the Lions ended up scoring a much needed touchdown to take the lead, 21-20. During the next set of drives, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs could not catch a ball. Kadarious Toney could not catch a pass in the second half, it was a rough watch for the Chiefs. The Lions were able to hold them off in the rest of the 4th to secure the win and get their first win of the season.

Lions are now 1-0. Can they win their division?

As someone who grew up in Michigan watching the Lions all the time as a kid, I can answer this question definitively. The answer is no, they can't. (You'll notice also they just lost to Seatle a couple days ago.) I think I recall them winning one playoff game back in the 90s or something, and then they got to the playoffs when they had Megatron, but I've just never trusted in their ability to be a contender. But I obviously come from a bit of a jaded perspective at this point , so hopefully I'm proven wrong.

The Detroit Lions had to dig in deep down in order to get their first win of the season. They have been lacking in quality for so long and this have affected their season so far. They need to put in more performances like they did against Kansas City Chiefs in order for them to be able to save their season.
