The issue of copyright have been a major problem for forums. There's never been an effective way of tackling this because it keeps happening all the time.

Have you been in a situation where every single content in your forum was copied and posted in another forum by a single user who's probably the forum owner?

If you find yourself and your forum in this situation, how are you going to handle it?

This has not happened to me, I have not found any forums that have copied my content. However, some of the posters on my forums were copying and pasting content from my site to other sites and vice versa. I just blocked them without sending a warning as I had clearly stated that content cannot be copied.

People who usually copy content and post on another community don't really know that kind of act doesn't help when it comes to one's website search engine optimisation and helping the forum to rank on Google. It's very bad for SEO and it's a good thing you have them banned or blocked.

I will reach out to the owner of the forum that is copying my content. I will politely explain the situation, provide the evidence of the copied content, and request that they remove it. If the forum owner does not respond or refuses to take action, I will consider sending a formal notice through a legal channel, such as a cease and desist letter. This letter will state my ownership of the content and demand its immediate removal. I will take necessary steps to protect my intellectual property and ensure that my content is not unlawfully copied or used without permission.

Personally I don't really get it when someone is going to waste his time and resources to set up a website but for him to be only interested in copying content from other people's platform to publish it on his own website without even altering anything. It's always very shocking to me honestly.

I've dealt with people who plagiarized my posts in the past. From my own forum to my forum posting services in the past. I've outed people who've stolen content from me. It's just lazy to see when people do stuff like that.

I have warned other forums of not to do it. And yet they don't seem to ever listen. And I don't think there's much you can do.

What I find helps is using plagiarism detector sites to find if a post/topic is copied. It has helped me weed out those who copy/paste posts as their own.

I have really caught up with a lot of people who do the same thing to my own originally created contents on several platform but I've never really bothered about trying to fight them over it because I don't really see an end to what it is going to bring for me when I try to make any case up.

If another forum copies content from my forum, then the very first thing i would do is contact the owner of the forum and allow him to notice this. I may try to get his attention to this issue. In case if the forum owner do not take any action, then I may consider other options. What are some of the best options to opt for in this case?

What happens in a situation where it's not a forum owner's contents that was copied? Take for instance, you created a topic here on Bizdustry and joined another xyz forum only to see the same content you made here copied and pasted on the forum. What would you do?
