Custom Themes or PreMade?

Should forums try to purchase a custom theme, or does it make more sense to start out with a premade theme? As a user, do you notice the difference between custom and premade? Do you prefer to use custom themes typically more?

Do you think that premade themes get overused or overlooked?

I have nothing against a forum owner using a pre-made theme if I am honest. Being a forum owner myself, I know how much it can sometimes cost when first starting out and using a pre-made theme whether it be free or paid is always good to start out with until your community is established and you are able to invest more money into it.

Always custom made. Premade in forumotion are just plane simple and for some versions they are from 2000 xD
It has to be changed. You can find cool skins on Hitskin.com but I prefer complete control over what I design.

I try to make the most from free resources, therefore, I use pre-made free themes. I do like to use custom made themes but since I want to keep my website maintenance cost low, I don't go ahead with buying custom made themes.

If you have the money to pay for the custom themes, it's better. I would like to use custom made themes over pre-made forum themes. The pre-made themes doesn't look bad, I've seen so many forum's using it.
