Critique My Forum Please

Hey Kevin- sorry to see no ones replied to this :( I'll take a look at it tomorrow (in 12 hours or so) and get back to you with feedback! :)

OK here are my critiques (please bear in mind I will only state things I think need fixing and this is my personal opinion):

  • I would like to see a new logo. The forum design is nice but the logo doesn't really fit it. Also there is no branding/ slogan with it- so I have no idea what your forums about at a first glance.
  • I hate tabs. They've never appealed to me and quite frankly you often find one or two tabs in a tabbed forum go almost un-noticed. Bring everything onto the main board.
  • I think a trim down is in order. You have way too many boards for a forum of your size. Try to be as compact as possible until those boards fill up. That way members are going to browse inside the section and post more.
  • I don't like the idea of a shoutbox. I think it's a real no no for a new forum. You could start a Hello/Goodbye thread instead... That will increase people posting on the actual forum and encourage them to be active. :)
Anyway, that's what I'd do. Overall it's a nice looking forum with some potential. Good Luck! :D
