The Top Level Country Domains are the domains that use country code at the end, for example, dot uk for the United Kingdom, dot us for the United States, dot in for India, etc. The primary aim od country domain is to rank high on search engines in that region. For example, it ia easier to rank yoursite.us in the United States compared to yoursite.com. Interestingly, I have also seen some bloggers use country domain. Do you think country domain is good for a blog or personal website?

Thank you for sharing this insight. I remember the first domain name that I encountered was the dot ph as the extension which stands for our country. The domain was owned by a friend. During that time I was not much into the internet so the extension of the website address did not register much on my mind. What's most popular was the dot com and the dot org. Yeah, why not patronize your own country's domain name provider? That is a good idea and patriotic too.

Country top level domain names is good for Personal blog if your website is targeting the country in particular not other regions. This will help you to identify with your audience as you are using the country top level domain name. For instance I someone who has hosting account targeting Nigerian market, he has his website domain name extension in dot ng.

I have a country domain. When I registered this domain I planned to use redirection to my personal website. However, now I am planning to use for my blog. If your audience is global, then country domain may not be good, however, if your audience is local, then country domains are really good.

Personally I would prefer you go for a personal website to a country domain. It gives you that edge of being more professional and very serious for business than when you go for a country domain.

It is good for both your blog and personal website.
Since it involves using country domain search engine in your domain or location.
Every website or blog uses it to enable browser in there region

If you are targeting local customers country domains can be great. For example, if you are trying to sell within uk, using dot uk gives you an edge over your competitor using dot com. Country domains are good if you want to rank locally.

Then you have to go for it.
Country domain gives you access and it also generate too much traffic to your website.

Since upon producing legal documents gives you access to free domain.

A personal website with . com domain extension is good than a country website with Domain. However, if you still think you want to Target a Niche very related to your country you can now target your niche with your domain name based on the extension used in your country forel example .ng and .uk

We always recommend choosing a .com domain name. While it can be tempting to come up with clever blog names using new extensions, .com is still the most established and credible domain name extensions

A lot of people do not realize that domain extension does not matter much. What matters is your domain name and your web content. Search engines like Google rank website on the basis of keyword used on the domain and in the web content. There are also other factors, but keywords are main. Country domains will help you rank locally.

Personal blog serves you only and might not be beneficial to traffic coming to your blog. I advise, one make something that could serve and solve a problem for the audience. One intention in creating a personal blog shouldn't be for public purpose were people needs to sign up or create account in other to make money off them... But if it for business purposes, a country blog is preferable.

It's definitely a good choice, especially when your business is a local one and you just want to target people within the country.

I've used it once, and I've discovered it's easier somehow to rank for certain keywords, and get more traffic from your country that way.

As for me, I don't believe in using any country name as part of my domain names. The best domain name you can settle for is dot com or dot org, depending on what type of website you are working on. If it's communications site, then dot com is the best.

me domain is very popular for personal websites and is also used by professionals to make their landing page. ... Some countries favor their ccTLD (country code) more than the .com and in some instances may be a better ch.

ccTLD (Country Code Top-level Domain) is a two-letter domain extension used primarily to identify an association of some kind to a specific country or territory. There are approximately 300 ccTLDs, with over 150 million domains registered using one of them.
The five most popular ccTLDs are .cn (China), .tk (Tokelau), .de (Germany), .uk (United Kingdom), and .tw (Taiwan).
