What do you do about these? We have different ways of dealing with stuff like this? I usually leave it, but when it starts getting heated I step in. These are the threads, I usually keep a big eye on.

When I was younger, I would always delete any controversial topics, and try to resolve the situation without stirring up too much drama. These past couple years, I have been more open to allowing controversial topics to take their course and see how the community reacts to it. Also, sometimes I enjoy owning trolls who post controversial topics, but maybe that's just me.
 
It depends on the topic. Certain thread's purpose is solely to cause trouble. While other threads are to debate something, then a person wrecks the thread. My rule is to never punish the thread unless nothing positive can come from the thread.

For example: if I posted a thread about abortion and a member started picking a fight with other members who disagreed with him, it's the person who started the fight's fault, which means that you should punish the member, not the thread.
