When it comes to creating a blog we all need an idea that we know we will stick with and enjoy. How do you come up with ideas for your blog?

For me I tend to go for something I have a big interest in at the time that I know I will be passionate enough to blog about to keep fresh content coming in.

I remember this was always an issue back when I ran a blog. Whenever I had a decent idea, blogging wasn't that hard. However, those times were pretty rare. I normally didn't get any good ideas. Most of the time, it took lots of grinding to actually pull out an article that was any good whatsoever.

When writing a blog, I think its extremely important to have a good strong plan in action.

You should see what the trends are among your target audience. What are they into? What interests them? What will make them want to visit your website?

I basically thought of the one thing I wouldn't mind talking about at a minimum of 3 days a week. When I settled on it, I started it. It has been 2 years and I now have daily traffic.

I would recommend having a blog that encompasses a wide range of topics. For example, instead of having a blog that focuses on marketing, make it about business in general. Instead of a blog about recipes, make it about food in general.

Get drunk do drugs.

IM KIDDING DONT!

What I meant to say was listen to some motivational music, take a shower, and have google do the auto fills they do. Trust me, I'm a blogger.

Well, you know that there are many alcoholic writers.

The most important thing when creating your first blog is, to pick a niche and to stick with it. Not many people like to read a blog that covers just about anything. For example, if you like writing about video games, do just that and avoid writing about things that your audience would not want to read.

In my opinion, the most important thing is enthusiasm for writing- if you don't feel like writing now, then don't. It's not something you depend on. Of course, if you already have built a good audience they expect from you to deliver regularly, but you can always write an apology note to them that you don't feel like writing now

I try to sit down each month and figure out the topics that I want to write about so that I have a basis to start off from. Then, I usually just try to think of something that I could write about for each topic, which does end up being very hard.

I usually set up alerts to receive topics relevant to my niche. I also visit other blogs like mine to see what people are commenting about, that they might not be getting from the competition.

Oh awesome! I like that the strategy of finding what people are talking about. Thanks!

Since mine is tied in with my business, a lot of it has to do with what I sell. I try to do one post a week for new products, one post a week about site/store updates, one about a personal thing I just wanted to share, and one thanking people for their support.
