Can I build a list without giveaways?

What do you mean by joint ventures? I'm not sure if I'm familiar with that practice when it comes to list building. If you can throw more light on that, it's going to be very helpful.

One of the best way that I make use of for my list building is by creating enticing content. This is the best when you don't want to do any kind of giveaways to achieve this goal.

If it's clear to your visitors that you're are capable of creating high quality content on your website, all of them will be willing to sign up to receive more content like that whenever you publish them.

There are a lot of marketers, business owners, entrepreneurs, and website owners luring people to subscribe to their services, join their programs, buy their products and services. This gives customers a lot of choices. They will go with the one that is offering the "best." Therefore, it is nearly impossible to build list or leads without giving away anything.

Exactly! We are in world of give and take right now. Nothing goes for nothing. If you're not willing to give, don't expect to get anything back in return. Not one is willing to waste their time on anything they won't gain one thing or another. It's the rule of law world today.

That's the point. When most marketers and businesses are building list through giveaways, you also need to offer something otherwise you cannot get anyone sign up to your services. However, giveaways do not require to be very expensive, something like 5 percent discount, a free digital product, etc. can easily encourage people to sign up for your list

This is the challenge. Maybe figuring out whether offering them something like free services can go a long way. I agree that one would need to offer something in return nowadays, and it is difficult for someone on a tight budget.

Exactly! Working within your budget is what's always very important. It doesn't matter what other businesses and brands are doing, your own visitors and potential clients will appreciate whenever you're offering them as a giveaway.

If you get it right with the target audience, everything will become easier and better as far as marketing is concerned. Just like you mentioned, anything that you offer as extra will now be considered as a plus and not a must for them to get along with what you are selling or building.

There are many ways to do list building. Some years ago, I was able to build a list using joint ventures. However, I've realised that it is not going to be easy right now as a result of having a tight budget.

Is anyone with an idea on how to do list building without using paid giveaways?
If you mean a mailing list, you don't need to do a paid giveaway at all.

You need a lead magnet.

A lead magnet is something you give away for free to list subscribers that is of high quality and value.

For example, on my hiking newsletter with is nearly 3K subscribers, I give away a guide to 35 awesome hikes that are not as known as others in the area. That's very valuable to my local and visiting audience.

I make sure all my CTAs offer that lead magnet.

When I send it, I also note that as a subscriber they'll get even more of those hiking trails throughout the emails they get. That helps to mitigate the snatch and unsubscribe actions that many list builders see. You have to make sure you keep pushing value with your newsletters.

My lead magnet is a PDF file that I created.

Free and simple.

If you don't want to offer a lead magnet, then you need to create the best copy possible to convince someone to subscribe based on the value you provide in your mailing list.

A lead magnet will make it a lot easier, though!

Yeah, that's right on making use of a lead magnet. Everyone wants something in the end and if it's something of value, there's always a very high chance they will jump on it without wasting any time.
