What are a few of the best admin practices that help your site do well?

I know the number one thing if you have a forum is consistency. Something not a lot of people have that I am trying to do better with myself. I haven't been doing a terrible job though I will at least say that. It has been going well.

Another one I think is patience and also not letting your members over power your staff team. Patience is a virtue and for a site to do well all it takes it content and time. You simply need content and you need to wait and give it time. If you don't have the patience and shut down your site early, then it's impossible to get started.

Try not to be too restrictive. I have seen a few forums, especially some very niche ones, that are very strict regarding their rules and guidelines. It just ends up pushing your members away and is never a good look for your forum. People don't have the time to memorise all your rules and guidelines, just let them enjoy your forum.

Make your members feel appreciated. Afterall, there wouldn't be a community if it wasn't for them!

Let them have a say in shaping the future of your website, and if you really don't like a suggestion then provide constructive criticism rather than just shooting it down.

1. Following the rules strictly at all times and having non biased opinions
2. Providing proper and reasonable justification for their actions, whenever required.
3. Shouldn't abuse their power.
4. Doing the admin related work from time to time, without any reminders from others.
5. Trying to create more activity by coming up with new ideas.

That is true, though sometimes you have to check content more thoroughly so you do not miss where there are issues that may be abused by users posting.

That is true and some users can be very sneaky. Usually they try to cover up by posting a lot, after breaking some rule. I have come across several users who do that and it can be very annoying.
I usually don't have much time to check all the content. So, I try to look for plugins which blocks, all the links to guests. Crawlers are usually listed under guests most of the time. So, we can reduce the damage a little.

An admin should balance being strict and friendly such that they don't do too much of one and too little of the other. I like admins who have set rules for their forums and is not linient on anyone who breaks the rules while also being friendly to the site users. That means he/she should also be able to give second chances upon proof that one will change their mistake and give warnings instead of just banning members without saying why. Also, the admin should be active such that he/she answers to site members questions and gives help whenever needed.

I totally agree with it. It is supposed to be in service to create a win win situation by being neutral and objective. Though it is also supposed to be strict when it is necessary, there are always second chances that s why as staff we send earnings first in 1st behaviour of a user.

You have stated all that needed to be noted.

I agree with @Abigael a lot of forums I've been on are just like this. I still think an admin should be understanding of users making mistakes and not be terribly hard on them if they simply got into an argument in a thread for something like politics for example. By this I mean a warning at first, then an infraction point. And if it continues obviously a ban. Second chances on bans shouldn't be given but for my own site the first ban is not permanent and points are able to expire over time. One thing an admin shouldn't do is let people walk all over them just because there's someone who posts a lot. It should be respected that they are a valued member and the most important part is you should get to know your members who post on a regular basis.

You also should never make your rules impossible or too hard to follow. They should all have a purpose and should be laid out appropriately. If you have extremely strict rules then your not just going to have a few people get banned but over time there will be more then a lot. If you have a big site with a lot of people it's quite important to realize that.

There are several specifications available in admins . the most important of them absolutely are bein nice and kind . Keep the ussers uptadet with everything . Make the work document

You have made a good point here. The rules in a site should be reasonable enough and easy for the users to understand. Being in a site where rules are not understandable can be so misleading. You can even get banned without knowing what ecactly you did wrong.

One thing I have noticed is that several people just jump into working on sites without reading the rules and regulations of the site and on getting banned, they claim unfairness. This does not rule out the fact that some Admins can be too unbending.

The best admin processes is to know how to attend to customers complaints. Customers is to sole of business and you can't do without them of you want to grow your business successfully. Just know how to relate with your business folk and customers and your admin practices will be top notch.

The best admin practice is seeing to the day to day running of and organisation, making sure working is on going in every department of the organization. They administer work done and carryout by the staff of the organization, they also manage the affairs of the organization and see to the complains, employment, resignation and retirement of staff.

I am in one forum where the admin is very responsive and respectful. I like that guy. The problem is when he employed mods. I was charged 16 cents, I think, for posting on a wrong category. And for my 2nd offense I was charged 56 cents. The category in question is Business Ideas that I posted in Business Start and Management. I wonder how a post can be wrong since both categories are directly related to each other. Yesterday I got another violation for making a plagiarized post. Now it makes me wonder how I could make a plagiarized post when I never did that in my life. I have a suspicion that a mod or mods are against me, they are hitting me below the belt. Worse is the admin would always side with them.

As an administrator you need to make sure the community is working well. There must be rules and regulations which must be enforced. The admin must show responsibility and every member must be respected as a part of the community.

Here are some of the best admin practices

Be nice. Be likable. ...
Monitor Your Systems. Always, always, always monitor your systems! ...
Perform Disaster Recovery Planning. ...
Keep Your Users Informed. ...
Back Up Everything. ...
Check Your Log Files. ...
Implement Strong Security. ...
Document Your Work.

One of the best and most important admin practice ,is availability. Users of the site wants to always see the admin active , it gives them a form of confidence in the site and the admin .
Another one is fast Payment. Users believe that once payment is delayed , it shows that something is wrong with the site.
