Being responsible for a relatives finances

Have you ever been responsible for someone elses finances or money? A friend of mine had to take control of his fathers money years back as he struggled to care for himself and would often spend the money too fast. Another person I know had to have power of attorney over their daughter as she was dealing with a rough patch in her life that affected her own mental health.

When I was living on my parents money, I never spent on useless things, I did not party or went on a vacation with my parents money, I started spending on fun activities only when I started earning myself. A lot of people have this tendency to spend someone else's hard earned money.
