I'm planning to launch a forum site about books but I'm not sure if it will gain a lot of visitors. Can you suggest some attractive forum niches where people would love to visit to.

A book forum would be pretty hard to get up and running. Most people just talk about books in social groups that are already established on places like Reddit. In terms of an attractive niche, I guess providing a space that gives people more use than social media does. It doesn't matter the topic.

Books is not a bad forum idea. But the approach you are using is not good. You should first of all bring together the people you think are interested in something. What i mean is, you should first of all join a group or a community in the mainstream social media platforms. Then from there, suggest the idea of forming a niche forum. The people will help you make the decision on whether to go ahead with the idea.

I think that if you are looking at a forum that is about books then i think that the best thing is to have the topics that are based on genre because that will make is easier fo readers.

Well, you can bring traffic and get activities on any niche provided you market and promote your site to the proper audience. I know a lot of book niche forums where there are decent activities. However, I believe general discussion forums have wider audience, thus, you will be able to get more users and activities by running general discussion forums.
