What’s your country’s army like?

Does your country have a proud military history?

How strong is your country’s army?

Is your country’s army often involved in conflict?

Are armies necessary?

I live in the US and our military is a mixed bag. Lots of great people, but you could also find some of the worst people joining. Peope who wants to go to war and shoot people. I imagine each country has those types of soldiers.

Anyway, I'm all for having an army, but I hate dealing with wars and other conflicts.

Our national army consists of 100k personnel. Our army has a proud history, it fought against British forces and won wars multiple times. Our army maintained the serenity of the country and we were never colonized. Our army also has a reputation of peace keeping forces for the United States.

The US army and the other related branches are supposedly the strongest in the world. Well, no doubt we needed them so to keep us from being the punk of Germans and Russians. O.K., that sounds redneck (over-nationalist), but it's the harsh truth and it's not too simplistic.

Anyway, I don't agree the US should be all over the world. I've been to South Korea, for instance, and I've seen the resentment.

I don't have much data about my country's army to be honest, but I think it has always been a pretty good army and that is why they are always called for important missions from allied countries. I think my country's army has some 120,000 active soldiers.
