What do you think of a forum wide archive? I personally hate them! When do you decide that a topic has gotten too old to be discussed? And how do people find stuff in your archive board? Can they reply to topics there? Thoughts? :)

I have what is called the hall of memories on my board. I usually use it for topics that have either got too large in size, or have not seen activity in months. I encourage my members to search for a particular subject before posting, but if they find it and it is in the archive, by all means create a new thread!

I don't like archive boards.
But the archive mod which is in plain text has a purpose of saving bandwidth.
And I guess you can decide to move them to archive mode(not archive board) once it stay without any replies for 1 month.
