Are you guys aware of some free programming software? I have limited programming skills, and for now, I just want to mess around with some programming software to get some of an idea of how it works. Do you guys have any suggestions for free and open source options? I'm open to suggestions of course.

You can use codeblocks, it comes for free along with a compiler that's free as well, you can also use notepad++ but the issue is that it got no compiler so you have to use that separated, which makes codeblocks more recommended

There are many IDEs that are free to use for different programming languages but which language do you want to code in?
For example, I use eclipse for java, but there are many other free ones to use for java alone.

I don't know of any programming software but if any you should understand that a programming software will not do programming for you as they only have a little ability to teach a simple programming and you must understand that a programming software that will teach you how to program or give you a better understanding about programming may not actually be for free , sometimes you need to pay for premium membership,it depends on the one you are using

is there anything like free programming software? even if it appears free from the beginning, it's very certain you'll be asked to make some payment along the line to regain the full functioning of the software. but in case you've come across any, you can share it here. I will love to know

Programming software for free might not actually be free .

Some people say it might appear free from the beginning but in the end it might not be free

I have never seen free software before I really want to see one some day.

- it depends on your programming language of choice, so I cannot say a lot here, but IntelliJ-Based IDEs (like PyCharm, WebStorm) are very good and very widely used. When it comes to Windows - Visual Studio is amazing IDE.

I am assuming you are asking for free programming apps for your smartphone because if it is for your computer, they are all pretty much free there. Anyway it depends on the programming language you want to learn.
There are many IDEs that are free to use for different programming languages ?
For example, I use java N ide for java and c4driod for c before a payment token was attached to it.

I have tested quite some few numbers of free programming softwares in the past, I must be truthful. Programming is a very difficult language to understand, despite all my learning months I'm still unable to understand anything.

I am a web developer and often use Notepad ++ and Sublime Text Editor. Both programs are good if you write code in the web. Sublime Text Editor helps you write code has many good features

There are free programming soft ware you could actually get some of them from your Google play store. And you also search for more from the internet using search engines.

The free programming software that I am using currently is linx and it has been helping me to learn programming but I don't take programming as a must learn skills that I need but I am just doing it for fun.
