Have you ever been forced to change a domain name? Not in the sense of a company having a similar name forcing a name change, but more so in regards to the domain being against some kind of rules. Should domain names be regulated so that they don't offend people? Or should people be allowed any domain they want?

Hmm, i never seen someone acquire a domain name for his or her niche selection, and was charged to change the domain because of rule broken. Before you choose a domain, the domain, and web hosting service will approve it first.

As a domianer I have not been forced to changed a domain name before. I buy domains with good keywords and make sure that its a trending keywords that will be very easy to market to the public so that's how I do my own things

I think there shouldn't be need for a change of domain name is a proper findings were carried out before registering the name in the first place. Before you decide to register a domain name and go ahead to host it then you must have concluded it's okay for the purpose you wan to use it for.

I don't think that it is possible to change a domain name for whatever reason as the process through which domain names are being created is quiet complex and so domain names cannot be changed once created.

I think people should be allowed whatever domain name they want as long as the domain name isn't identical to another person's or organisation domain.

No. But I have a friend who had to change her domain name because it had the same name frequency with other users and due to avoid security risk.

I don't that can happen. Once you register a domain, it will remain yours as long as you renew timely, no once can force to change the domain name that you have bought.

Being force to change a domain name is very very and highly possible because it is business and the would not like you have sell the domain.

I don't know if it's ok for anyone to choose what field they want, and uncensored etc, because it would be chaos all over the world. I consider that a limit of common sense must be kept when choosing the domains.

Once you register your domain, no one can force to change you not matter what. However, if you have violated copyrights, you might have to change the domain name. You cannot impersonate any well know company or indvidual.

I was never forced to change a domain name before, I have not come across anyone having such issues before, I believe the internet is a free community. If it was offline some countries will harm anyone that use a blasphemy name against them.
