The Web Hosting Service is a type of service that helps you to make your website more approachable through the World Wide Web. It allows individuals to post a web page on to the internet. These websites are stored or you can say hosted on the server. To begin with your website there are certain things that you need to know. You can even tend to a digital marketing company to become familiar with web hosting services.

The computer needs to process the information we input in a form that is comprehensible by the computer thus every website is attributed to an IP address that determines the website. These IP addresses are stored in a server which is referred to as the domain name registrar.

DOMAIN NAME

When making a website there is a specific domain name that you need to purchase to get yourself started. A domain name registrar is a business that handles the booking of domain names just as the task of IP addresses for those domain names. domain names are alphanumeric pseudonyms used to get to sites; for instance, Google’s domain name is ‘google.com’ and their IP address is 192.168.1.1. Area names make it simpler to get to sites without remembering and enter numeric IP addresses. These domain names help us remember the shortcut to complex IP addresses. This also falls in the context of search engine optimization. The Domain Name System DNS is managed by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers which links your domain to the server

TYPES OF DOMAIN

TYPES-OF-DOMAIN.jpg

1. TOP LEVEL DOMAIN (TLD)

As the name suggests, these are the top domains amongst all of the domains and there are about thousands of TLDs available now, open for registration. It identifies the purpose of an organization or an entity. Country code top-level domains (ccTLD) are specified to each country. For instance, if you want to muster up the attention of the visitors to your website based in the US then you can use the .us as a part of the domain name. For example, in SUWP.com the .com part represents the top-level domain.

2. SECOND LEVEL DOMAIN

They come second to the top-level domains. in the above-mentioned example hostingservices.com, the hostingservices part is referred to as the second level domain which defines the entity.

3. THIRD LEVEL DOMAIN

They fall below the second-level domain. They contain a part of the full domain name. The www part is known as the third level domain. This domain identifies a host server. When adding a subdomain, you will be using the third level domain.

RELATION BETWEEN WEB HOSTING AND DOMAIN

Entities that offer web hosting services let you choose and purchase a domain name. They contact the domain registrar to know if the domain name you requested is already taken or available to purchase. The web hosting companies offer you some space too, where you can store all your data. There are certain packages you can avail as per your requirement. Your web server is where all the database is stored. Your website’s performance depends on the quality of the web host you look up to. People will search your website by entering your website’s domain name in their browser and the results will show up from the data stored in the webserver.

TYPES OF WEB HOSTING

1. SHARED HOSTING

In this type, all domains share the same server. This is best for beginners and relatively costs less than the other types. This is suitable for an average amount of web traffic on your website.

2. DEDICATED HOSTING

This type of hosting allows owners full control as the server of your domain solely belongs to you and is not shared by other owners. You have full command over the operating and the security system. But quality comes with a price, similarly, this type of hosting service is the most expensive one.

3. VIRTUAL PRIVATE SERVER (VPS) HOSTING

It is an intermediate between a shared and a dedicated server. VPS hosting allows users customization and provides more space but is still not compatible with a large influx of traffic.

4. CLOUD HOSTING

Cloud hosting makes applications and websites accessible using cloud resources. There is a network of connected applications and resources. It divides a single server into multiple virtual servers. Several servers are used to balance out the load and make available space to the users.

5. MANAGED HOSTING

This is the type of hosting service where the provider manages some of your tasks which you do not have to worry about like security operations and software updates. The provider may optimize the web service for you but it is a pricey service as the host would be doing an extra job. Apart from this, you wouldn’t be able to have full control
