Allowing multiple accounts

So, do you allow members to create multiple accounts? Why or why not? We don’t allow multiple accounts or account sharing, as we operate a paid to post system and people creating multi profiles is basically fraudulent financial behaviour.

Yes, in some occasions I do allow multiple accounts. One reason is that sometimes members might have delicate questions they'd like to ask the others their opinion on without feeling shame. They usually tell me ahead of time that they plan on signing up with another account for just that reason and I give them my permission.

I don't alow multiple accounts, but as an admin, I create multiple accounts, especially when the forum is very new.

Multiple accounts is not good for a forum. If I started my own forum, I will make sure that there's no multiple accounts. There's nothing beneficial about the multiple accounts.

I don't allow it myself. There are some situations where it's useful (e.g. for RPG forums), but it's not something I've ever wanted or needed myself.

If you do not have a reward system for your members and stop members from replying to their own posts, I do not see any problem with multiple accounts.

Yes, I do permit several accounts on occasion. One explanation is that members occasionally may have sensitive issues they'd like to discuss with the others without feeling embarrassed. They typically notify me in advance if they intend to open another account solely for that purpose, and I give them my consent.
