How often are you in your Admin panel/CPanel on your forum or site? I am in the admin panel on mine all the time just incase something crops up and I need to swap things around. I always have it open anyway!

What about you?

A friend of mine told me that it is a good idea to be in there at least once a day. I haven't yet setup a site, but when I do, I imagine I will be there at that interval

Believe me, when you're first setting up your site, you'll be in the a heck of a lot! It's good practise though!

Most of the time. My promotion forum requires to be in the admin panel a lot. And the cPanel usually when I install mods or a new theme or need to edit some files.

Cpanel is pretty easy to use and you'll get used to it pretty quickly+ if you run into trouble you can ask here or on Google. :)

i have found cpanel easy - but nothing to compare it to. the only thing i will say is there are lots of bits on there i do not use and have no idea what they do lol. as far as admin panels go i have used 2 - the free one on forumotion and the one on phpbb. the phpbb one was a revelation after forumotion - i knew i was limited on forumotion as i kept finding things to do and not being able to do them but with phpbb i found i could do things i had not even thought about doing on there

i am about to install mybb for the first time - takes a deep breath to steady her nerves lol - so will see what that admin panel is like

Admin panels are the reason I would never use free hosting forum software like proboards, forummotion and stuff lol. They just suck. MyBB's ACP is awesome though, don't you worry. :)

i think free hosting forums are fine for someone just starting out - but once you have found your feet you want and need far more control

At least a couple of times a day, I have a reseller account so all my domains are in there.

I have a local version of phpBB installed on my home computer. I'm assuming, that the file management and stuff would be different, and thus the cPanel I've heard much about. For modifications, I see where it is necessary to be in the cPanel. However, in my instance, I found that in phpBB, you can edit the html files via the software directly!

So as for my site, once I stop fiddling about with the names and hosting details, I think that I would be in the software ACP perhaps more often than the cPanel.

That's the one advantage SMF has over other forum softwares- you can install modifications inside the ACP.... What do you like about phpBB Alucard? I haven't really experimented with it much.... :)

I log into my administration panel on my forum when I need to edit some templates, upgrade the script or edit a member's profile (if they request something to be changed such as a username, etc..). At forums which I moderate, I normally only use the control panel only when I need to ban a member right away for spamming (without giving infractions) or checking the IP for duplicate accounts.
