I would never use it on my forums, it's plain annoying and not worth the small amount of revenue it would probably generate.

Using it on forums will annoy the forum visitors/members for sure, may be only for attachments, but thats it!
But in youtube like websites its a good idea to use it!

Yeah, I don't think it works all that well maybe that's because my only vid with over 1000 visits (around 4000) didn't have an adf.ly link.... I would hate to see adf.ly on any forum.... Unless they're giving you something for free.

A very true remark. I've been on several forums where they have all links that are placed on the forum leading to an adf.ly link and it one of the most annoying things I have ever encountered. Make some extra money by all means but by ensuring that all links on your forum form a adf link it is just plain stupid and drives members away in my opinion,

I've never seen forum owners do it..... only forum users- and very rarely.... The adf.ly forum is full of adf.ly links though

Believe me, it was a royal pain in the butt lol. Every time I had to wait ages on every link, it was just irritating to a new level. The forum of Adf.ly is full of their links, no surprise there! Haha.

There are some other paid link shorteners that allow you to skip the ad by just pressing a button rather than waiting.....

It's not really for your "premium" longer term websites- but you could use it for junk ones....
