When do you think is the best time to put ads on your blog or website? Do you think it is better to wait till you have built up some traffic or do it as soon as you create the site? I know sometimes people can be turned off by ads and I would hate to have a site fail from the very beginning.

People won't be turned off by ads if you don't overdo it. You'll be fine with a leaderboard and footer banner. I think putting the ads anywhere else is risky, but people genuinely expect many websites to have ads these days.

Well, this is sort of a chicken or the egg question, one I'm sure that will be debated till the end of time. Or at least till the zombies take over. I usually wait till I put ads on my sites. I like to build an audience first. Unless it is a niche site design around selling something exclusively.

I tend to agree, people have grown accustomed to seeing ads, but you don't want to go overboard with them. Plus, a person needs to put relevant ads on their site. Some people still click on ads, so stay true to your niche.

I'd personally like to wait to build an audience and place ads on the website later because I really don't see the point of including ads if no one is viewing them. Know what I mean?

I would include ads when you start getting returning traffic. Before that, I think it would just be a waste of time and energy.

I think it's best to adverts as soon as you have built up some members. There is no point in adding advertising when you have just started out and you have no members, no posts and no activity because you will generate no revenue. If you have add ads when have built up activity, then you will generate loads of revenue of the forum (depending on the traffic).

You will earn from ads only when your site starts generating traffic, so you should wait until your site starts generating traffic to add ads on your site. You should be generating a lot of organic traffic before adding ads.
