Hosting recommendations and what does it cost you?

Okay let's hear it everyone. What is so great about the web hosting company you use and what does it cost you ?

I am using limitlesshost (not an ad, or affiliate link), and got their $5 a month directadmin hosting plan. Seems to work well so far.

I've had hosting with namecheap, and some other hosts. Not a fan of big hosts.

For unmanaged stuff where I need to do something funky, I've been with Linode since 2006 but in wake of the acquisition by Akamai I've had reason to doubt the services being offered in a way I never did before. I don't know if I want to move any time soon but most of the projects that need that level of specialist probably could be moved to equivalently sized offerings on DigitalOcean.

For managed stuff becaues I'm too lazy to manage it myself, I've found myself recommending Cloudways - you get a (relatively) cheap managed layer over the top of your choice of DigitalOcean/Linode/Vultr/AWS that lets you do a lot of the common stuff you'd probably care about.

At work we use Cloudways for most things, and Kinsta for the WordPress-only stuff, it seems to work pretty good, though the price hike for Redis is a bit more than I want to stomach when Cloudways gives you that in the base price.

I used Namecheap web hosting and it was okay! I also used GoDaddy's web hosting and enjoyed it too. I forget the prices, but it was not terribly priced.

I use Forumotion for my forum. It's a free if you have little to no money.

I use Wordpress for my blog. It does have a free option but you can upgrade if you want to make money off your blog and turn it into a business.
