🌶️ You should ignore member feedback

This is a spicy post.

One of the things that I see among legacy forum admins is an over reliance on member feedback. A member says they're interested in something, the admin builds a whole new board for that one topic that the member rarely posts in. A member says why not match what another site is doing, the admin builds a whole new section that duplicates but is never as successful the other site.

Do you immediately implement all member feedback? When might you want to ignore what members suggest?

Most members do not have any idea on how a forum should run and what it takes to build a successful forum. Therefore, if you ask them for feedback they would say things that might not help you. Therefore, I always avoid asking members for feedback.
