Just like social media platforms, forums are also a platform for social discussion, social networking, and social broadcasting. However, forums are dying breed, where as social media sites are growing bigger and bigger. When I started, forums were very popular but most of the forums where I was active are gone. What do you think forums should do in order to become popular again?

I think forums should stop comparing themselves with social media and work towards building a platform where people come to ask questions and get answers. Forums can survive if they development into a resource site.

Forums are a lot different to social media I have found and with so many people still using forums and passionate about seeing forums thrive, I feel there will always be a space in the internet world for forums for years to come.

Social media offers another source of connecting with people that is different from forums and that allows people to have a choice of where they prefer to be and interact.

Reddit is a forum site, and it is very popular. Quora is also a forum that is not only popular but is also ranking high on search engines. Social media posts do not rank on search engines for forum posts can.
