Throwback big time!! I still use the site mostly to post on their own forums and to dress up my avatar.

And here's some throwback of how the site looked when it launched

I had met friends on other sites who were on there. Sadly they've all moved on with their lives. Do any of you remember Gaia Online?

I remember hearing about this place long, long ago and I'm surprised it's still going strong. I think I heard about it on "Big Boards", a directory of the past that only allowed boards with X amount of posts and members to join.
I was on it off and on throughout the years. I remember wanting to be a mod there badly and always got declined due to being inactive or just due to maturity reasons.

Never heard of this, I have used a couple of gaming communities and I believe gaming communities are fun. I checked the web archive link and based on my first impression, I think it must be a cool community. I am not much into Anime though

It’s wild how popular it is still to this day. It blew up because of the customization of human avatars on a community. Their success inspired a lot of other games too.

I didn’t have a computer back when Gaia Online was popular. My wife told me she used to visit the site when she was a teenager and loved it.
