Who remembers Tamagotchi?

One memory I have of my childhood that sticks with me now is having a Tamagotchi. I always remember my mum got one first and it was a cat Tamagotchi, she used it for a little while and let me have it to take care of it and I would spend ages looking after the cat, I was always sad if I forgot and the cat died.

Do you remember Tamagotchi's? Did you have one?

I had a bunch of these growing up lol. Got one for my nephew a few months ago, he likes it.

It's a real throwback seeing these become somewhat popular again after all these years.

I remember everyone had one for awhile but I never had one. I did have a virtual Chao on my Dreamcasts VMU though.

I have been taking a look and it seems they have released new ones that are the same as the ones you used to get when I was younger.

I'm considering picking one up for nostalgia purposes.

Chao are cooler IMO. But I had the off brand which was a Gigapet lol. My mom was supposed to take care of it for me when I went to school but she forgot to feed it and it died. :V

Oh I remember those too! If it died, was it dead for good or could you remove the battery and restart?

I'm not sure about the old ones but the new ones you can revive them apparently.

I want a Tamagotchi again as it was fun to take care of a small digital pet.

Vaguely... my sister used to have one, although that would've been some time around 1999 or 2000, when they were past the peak of their popularity.
