Another fabulous day of enjoying retirement at the ripe old age of 59, and not having to really worry about anything.
For those still in the grind... I have to STRONGLY suggest you plan for your future...because it does arrive, and if you haven't planned for it adequately you can be screwed. WAY to many don't think about it far enough in advance. We drilled this into our son... it's one reason that he's got savings/investments approaching the 7 digit range currently at the "old" age of 36, and he's debt free.

Must be nice. My wife and I are nearly 40 and we're only just able to start the property buying process. As it is, we're in the top 10% of the entire country nationally for salary, have 20% of the property value to put down (which given a 4-figure rent a month is quite a miracle), and we're still going to be having a 4-figure-per-month mortgage payment over the next 20+ years, even though we plan to bring that down over time.

No-one else at the company I work for can afford to buy a house - not even the boss - and they're all flat-sharing, though they're all in their twenties. And not really able to put too much down per month into a deposit because rentier culture sucks.

Glad it's the weekend, this week has felt incredibly long with having to travel down south to a meeting.
Pretty much the same story next week as I have a conference to attend, so best make the most of this weekend.

Don't really celebrate that here in Scotland, the only time I remember doing anything for it was in my college days.

Got two long days of conference tomorrow and Wednesday, up at 3:30am to get to the airport for my flight, so probably won't be online for the next couple of days!

Tired and more tired! I've just woken up from a nap. My sleeping pattern is goosed from all the partying I done on Tuesday night! 🫣

We only get to meet up a few times a year, so when we party...we go hard! I went to bed at 4am and had to get up at 7am to start the second day, and I felt more and more awful as the day went on. By the time my flight home came around at 10pm, I full on had the shakes. Could have been worse though...might have had no sleep at all!
