It can possibly rub a lot of people the wrong way, statistically speaking. How can anyone discuss politics civilly? Myself, I can see why people say you have to say something about politics to avoid cowardice, but is that really cowardice?

I prefer to think about it this way. I enjoy programming. Learning about it from others, and/or helping others understand things about it they might not have their heads around yet. It has zero to do with politics. As a general rule of thumb, the best way to split a topic into two independent threads is to interject politics into it. It will immediately divide the discussion into two (or more) distinct threads and, not to mention nothing useful in regards to the original topic will be discussed (usually). So my rule is that there is two very important times in which I do not discuss politics.

At the dinner table
When talking to people I like. (that was sorta a joke, but you get the point)

Politics is one of two of the most controversial and hard conversations to have without going south, unless you converse with people who believe in the same things you do and then it becomes a echo chamber. It's hard to change a person's world view if they were taught to view the world a certain way. Most of society sees the world as black and white to begin with, and the moment you start to notice the world is more grey and you try to convince others who don't see it that way it can lead to some heated conversations.

I totally agree. It's just a waste of time. Also, as you said, it can wreck havoc.

Ya'll have highlighted some crucial points within the preceding shared opinions on this highly concerning aspect of the corporate control system.

Well done, i say.

Seems overtly apparent to me for why practically any discussions involving subject matter pertaining to the socially engineered politicking dichotomy expeditiously go sour af—regardless of the various "nation entities"-(*collective fictional-bodies of *registered* subject-"citizenry"*), or whichever career "political"-'actors'-(*social manipulators*) may be involved, or whatever "nations" pseudo-"governmental"–corporation* apparatuses may be.

"Politicking" discourse overwhelming triggers divisiveness amongst individuals participating in these fictions because that is the primary purpose by design.

Like many generations before us, we are imposed upon with an ever increasing range of Ideological Viruses throughout our early developmental stages—this imposition has become standardized over the prior ~11± decades and is commonly referred to as the respective "nations" "education" systems.

Yet that is not to suggest these systems are inherently so—rather, what has actually occured is the hijacking of proper education mechanisms which are continuously infused with toxic social concepts.

Consider as, just one of the glaringly abhorrent, examples: so-called "gender"-"inclusivity" currently being aggressively forced upon children in most "western" "education" systems as well as the general "citizenry".

This is a Weaponized social fiction with a pseudo-"justification" premised upon logical fallacies and aggressively perpetuated by various means of wilfully hostile information control, ie: Perception Management.

i simply couldn't care whether any who are ignorant of ignorance become trigged tf out reading what i have thusly opinionated here,...each individual is responsible & accountable for their-self.

Those few of us who have efforted to self-learn and who have increasingly attained possession of knowledge that is actively excluded from standardized "educational" systems—we can do no more than explain to an-other what we've learned, yet we cannot do the other individuals comprehension thereof.

Ignorance and inaction are equated as acceptance in the hostile eyes of the Corporate Empire—which Legally own every single Registered individual currently alive.
(😒i wish i was joking about that.)

*Cestui que vie

*Unam Sanctam,...etc

*Rise of the Corporation

😐Ignorance ain't bliss, it's just wilful ignorance erroneously rationalized away using a childishly catchy fallacy.

The Wise seem "foolish" to the Fooled.

The best way to discuss politics is to leave the "you" out of the conversation entirely. Any type of argument really needs to avoid "you" in order to clearly get your point across without coming across as condescending or insulting.

Stick to the facts. Don't insult. That's not so easy though when people run out of facts.

I don’t usually have any issues discussing politics in person with people, as I think generally most people are very similar in that they want a healthy, secure and happy life for themselves and their families. By and large people disagree about how to go about getting it, but I find it much easier to engage with people when I bear in mind that their ultimate objective is the same as mine. :)

I think if more people approached political conversations with an open mind and a willingness to compromise there’d be a lot less of the divides in society we see today.

I don't really discuss politics or even get involved with politics. It seems too confusing to keep up with everything related to it and we all know the whole country isn't going to have the same views as others.

On a niche site that is NOT related to politics or general discussion... avoid them like you would someone with an STD that can't be gotten rid of.
Two things that can pull a thread down that is not in the niche are politics and religion. Usually each each poster is "fixated" on their position and will never acknowledge any facts that show that their position is wrong/weak. And it's only gotten worse over the last decade.
The scary thing is... in many aspects, I see similarities from the early 1930's being repeated in many countries of democracy... I won't speak to the "socialist" (what most call communist countries in incorrect use of the term) as they still run pretty much as they have for decades.
