Community Interview: MisterBobbyPin

I have had the pleasure to ask @MisterBobbyPin a few questions. MisterBobbyPin is young and new to the scene administrator at 50Zones. Here's what he had to say.

Hello! Thank you for accepting my interview request. Can you tell me and the community more about yourself? Who are you, what's your age, gender, where are you from ?
My name is Javkson Conot, I am 18 years old. I am from the Rockies region of the US.

What is your greatest strength being a webmaster ?
I can be very quick to change. I find myself able to reply and utilize feedback quickly.

What is your greatest accomplishment ?
I don't really have one. I feel like most of what I've done are mere building blocks to something else.

How long have you been on forums in general? What's the history behind you?
I've been on forums since November 2021. It really all started when I began searching for Discord servers to join, however after plenty of drama I decided to look elsewhere. That's when I found forums and began to post heavily in them.

What has inspired you to start 50Zones ?
I didn't create it. I was hired by a man named Chad who made me the side admin. I joined because I wanted to try my luck at forum-making, and it just so happened that he was looking.

Can you tell us more about the software your site is running and why you have chosen that software over a more popular one like IPS or XenForo?
Wix is a website building tool that is used more professionally than anything like Xenforo. It's a great tool for professional and business-like sites.

Where do you see your forum heading in a couple of years? What are your goals?
I see it mainly like a small yet lively forum. Something that is always inviting but also not too big.

How often do you work on your forum, creating new content, adding news, doing back-end stuff?
I check it everyday, it doesn't need all that much maintenance which is nice. I try to keep it active of course but it's not really all that difficult to work with.

Do you consider yourself an expert webmaster? Are there aspects that you'd like to know better ?
Not even close, we all have to start somewhere and I've been learning step by step. It's a learning curve, which will take me time to figure out.

Do you like to have each detail set-up the way you want it and have everything go perfect? Or are you more laid back and fix a couple settings and let things fall into place on their own?
I'm more of a laidback person, I find that being overly strict will just ruin the fun for everyone.

Do you pick staff according to their popularity on forums, or their personality?
I pick people based on personality, I think popularity is a good way to look for people, but plenty of terrible people were popular.

How do you advertise?
I usually just post about it. I don't have the cash to really advertise so I have to do things simple.

How do you maintain your traffic/income and keep members entertained?
Mainly by talking to people on there. I think forums suffer from a lack of personal connection between the owners and their members, I want to change that.

There we have it, some more background information behind the username MisterBobbyPin. :D I hope you all enjoyed the interview. :)
